Partnership visit to Albania
On 25-29 April 2022, a delegation from the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa (PWSZ) consisting of Dr Marcin Walczyński, PWSZ prof. in Nysa, Dr Iwona Sikora and MA Dagmara Bojda realised mobility within the Erasmus+ KA107 programme to the University of Tirana.
The main purpose of the trip was to exchange experiences of the staff of the English Philology Department and the representative of the International Cooperation Office, and to discuss the principles of general cooperation between the PWSZ in Nysa and the University of Tirana, with particular emphasis on the Department of Foreign Languages visited, discussing the principles of implementation of the Erasmus+ programme for the following years, as well as procedures and documents related to the implementation of the programme.
During the visit, meetings were held with Prof. Esmeralda Kromidha - Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Prof. Viktor Ristani (Head of the Department of English Studies), Prof. Rudina Xillari and the staff of the Faculty, during which the topic of cooperation between the units, possibilities for exchange of teaching staff, implementation of joint scientific conferences and tools used for teaching students, including translation, were discussed. Additionally, a meeting was held with the staff of the International Cooperation Office at the University of Tirana, where the principles of the office in the context of the implementation of the Erasmus+ programme, the general principles of cooperation between universities and the plans for the coming years were discussed, including the procedures related to the implementation of the programme, pointing out the principles related to the recognition of learning outcomes and important elements of the recruitment process, such as the transparency of rules and the necessity of equal opportunities of the Erasmus+ programme for all staff and students from the faculties covered by the bilateral agreement.
In addition, during a visit to the University of Tirana, the delegation became acquainted with the university's offerings and teaching facilities. Curricula and student exchange opportunities were also compared.
Furthermore, taking advantage of their stay in Tirana, the delegation met with representatives of the other partner university, Polytechnic University of Tirana. During the meeting, they discussed cooperation, student exchange and the offer aimed at students and employees of the Polytechnic University of Nysa.
Thanks to the lectures delivered, the numerous meetings with staff and students from the University of Tirana, the exchange of experiences, the opportunity to directly consult the work of those involved in student education, university promotion and the Erasmus+ programme, the trip was a valuable experience and helped to set common goals for further cooperation.
