Partner visit to Kosovo

On 19-23 July 2021, a delegation from the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa, composed of Piotr Chwastyk, BEng PhD, Katarzyna Wąsowicz MSc, Ewa Cegieła, MSc, Artur Pieczarka MSc and Dagmara Bojda MSc, completed the mobility under the Erasmus + KA107 program to Kosovo.

The main purpose of the trip was to discuss the principles of general cooperation between the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa and the University of Pristhina and the principles of implementing the Erasmus + program for the following years as well as procedures and documents related to the implementation of the program. As part of the stay in Pristhina, there was primarily a meeting with university students preparing to go to study in the winter semester 2021/22, as well as with Prof. Albulena Blakaj - Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Ms Lumnije Bajrami, the head of the local International Cooperation Office, with whom the principles of the office's operation in the context of the Erasmus + program implementation, general principles of cooperation between universities and plans for the coming years were discussed. In addition, a working meeting with the employees of the local International Cooperation Office was held on the procedures related to the implementation of the program, indicating the principles related to the recognition of learning outcomes and important elements of the recruitment process, such as transparency of the rules and the need for equal opportunities of the Erasmus + program for all employees and students from the faculties covered by the agreement bilateral.

During the visit to the University of Prishtina, the delegation got acquainted with the offer and teaching facilities of the University, in particular with the Faculty of Engineering, where a meeting with Prof. Ilir Doci, who presented the faculty's educational infrastructure along with all laboratories. The curricula and student exchange opportunities were also compared.

The meeting with Prof. Elton Bahtiri and a workshop meeting with a representative of the Careers Office, Mr. Shkumbin Tafilaj. During the meeting, the principles of the office's operation in relation to the organization of student internships, cooperation with entrepreneurs and internationalization of the University in conjunction with the professional development of students were presented, which was particularly valuable for the employees of the Nysa Internship Office.

As part of cooperation with the Faculty of Architecture, a meeting was held with Dean Dr. Violeta Nushi and employees of the Faculty of Architecture, where further plans for the possibility of organizing joint projects were discussed, including international workshops and other events with the participation of experts from both universities.

Moreover, taking advantage of the stay in Pristina, the delegation met with representatives of the other partner university, Collegia Universum. During the meeting on the campus of the university, the topic of cooperation, student exchange and the offer addressed to students and employees of the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa was discussed.

Thanks to numerous meetings with employees and students from the University of Prishtina, exchange of experiences, the possibility of direct consultation of the work of people involved in student education, university promotion, and the Erasmus + program, the trip was a valuable experience and helped in setting common goals for further cooperation.

The University of Applied Sciences in Nysa has been cooperating with the University of Pristhina under the Erasmus + KA107 program since 2015. As part of the cooperation, the mobility of both students and employees of both universities is carried out.
