INTERNATIONALISATION AT HOME-INNOVATIVE APPROACHES AND TOOLS

Internationalisation at home touches upon everything – from the academic curriculum, to the interactions between local students and international students and faculty, to the cultivation of internationally-focused research topics, to innovative uses for digital technology. Most importantly, it focuses on all students reaping the benefits of international higher education, not just those who are mobile. Session Internationalisation at Home will contribute to the development of international competences at represented institutions, to share ideas and experiences.

CROSS-SECTIONAL INTERNATIONALISATION PROCESS AT THE UNIVERSITIES

The internationalisation of universities and higher education systems has been one of the most widely asserted and researched policy trends in the past 20 years.  It cannot be avoided and became now an integral part of higher education. Transnational education, international student recruitment, international student support, the internationalisation of home students and the integrated approaches responding to student, and staff diversity are all important. Recognising that internationalisation is essential to reforming higher education. Internationalisation is aimed at improving the human well-being and is an important step to developing professional practice within higher education today. Session aims to exchange ideas and best practices as well as to understand internationalisation as a “multi-level and cross-sectional exchange”.

THREATS AND OPPORTUNITIES OF ERASMUS+ COOPERATION VERSUS TERRORISM AND PREJUDICES

In contemporary times all we are exposed on different types of threats as well as to the political, ethnical, religion solutions of cultural problems. The existing situation with conflicts results from the fact, that military operations focus major efforts on the combating of terrorism or of paramilitary rebellious groups, for creating and keeping democratic power structures, forgetting about the individual citizen and his problems. The only way to co-exist is to open our minds in order to get to know, to understand and only then to try to change in the society. Erasmus + and other mobility Programmes are facing that challenge but need constant reflection on this background.

Dr El Ghamari is a specialist in terrorism, cultural security, Islam, operations and operational techniques. She heads the Cultural Security Workshop at the Collegium Civitas Centre for Social and Economic Risk Research. Her research interests include issues related to the Arab-Muslim area, Islamic fundamentalism, threats to international security, terrorism, migration, intercultural communication and Arabic studies. She also specializes in the subject of crisis emergency operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, NATO operations and the theory of military operations.
