INFORMATION PACKAGE ECTS 2013/2014
1. GRANTING QUALIFICATIONS (PROFESSIONAL DEGREES)
Studies at the faculty of Finance and Accounting take 3 years (6 semesters), and are completed with granting a bachelor's degree.
2. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS TO A GIVEN STUDIES PROGRAMME
Candidates for studies are accepted on the basis of the results
of the secondary school certificate contest.
3. PROFESSIONAL AND ACADEMIC PREREQUISITES OF STUDIES' CURRICULUM
The faculty of Finance and Accounting implies all the elements
and demands that are expected of modern bachelor graduates. They should have
basic knowledge of economics, law, organization, finance, accounting, informatics
and extended knowledge adequate for economic specializations in the field of
management and finance. The assumption is that such qualifications may well
turn out to be adequate for running one's own production-service business, or
employment at the financial institution or company's financial department.
The Finance and Accounting graduate will be a specialist capable of taking up
tasks and solve problems relating to finance management in economic organizations,
local government offices or financial institutions. He/She will be able to prepare
financial statements, make analysis, take investment decisions like introducing
a new product, service, technology, choose proper financing sources, calculate
risk, choose hedging instruments. He/She will have managerial knowledge supporting
cooperation between economic organizations and financial institutions.
4. FURTHER EDUCATION PROSPECTS
Education program at the faculty of Finance and Accounting at The State Higher
Vocational School in Nysa is equal to the first degree studies' curriculum at
technical and economic universities at the faculty of Finance and Accounting.
The curriculum enables further education at MSc level at the faculty of Finance
and Accounting, Management and Marketing or other economic faculties. Curricula
are similar, differences are not significant.

6. FINAL EXAM PROCEDURE
To obtain the bachelor's degree, students are obliged to complete all the courses listed in the curriculum, by acceptance or examination, submit an assessed diploma thesis written under supervision, and pass a final oral bachelor's examination, which, apart from the issues connected with the thesis, consists in the defence of the thesis itself.
7. PRINCIPLES, METHODS OF GRADING AND EXAMINATION
The semester is treated as completed after obtaining at least
a satisfactory grade in all the subjects in the curriculum of studies, including
vocational training, and after submitting the record book as well as the record
card at the dean's office at the time required for the completion of the semester.
The grades used at the State Higher Vocational School in Nysa are: Very good
('5.0'), Good plus ('4.5'), Good ('4.0'), Satisfactory plus ('3.5'), Satisfactory
('3.0'), Unsatisfactory ('2.0').
Students are expected to be active during the classes, pass all the tests and
other assessment forms.
The subject which is a lecture and is not followed by an examination is accepted
as passed on the basis of the final test. In case some classes such as project,
laboratory, seminars, language classes, are not completed, then sitting for
the examinations is made impossible.

9. VOCATIONAL TRAINING
Vocational training is a supplement to academic knowledge acquired at classes. It allows to understand dynamic processes in the field of finance, production, services, and implement acquired knowledge in economic reality. Training can be carried out at accounting offices, financial departments, local government offices, banks and companies.
