MANAGEMENT AND PRODUCTION ENGINEERING

1. GRANTING QUALIFICATIONS (PROFESSIONAL DEGREES)

Studies at the faculty of Management and Production Engineering take 3,5 years (7 semesters). The graduate receives a diploma that is equivalent to the first degree at a university (BSc in engineering) as well as the professional title of an engineer.

2. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS TO A GIVEN STUDIES PROGRAMME

Candidates for studies are accepted on the basis of the results of the secondary school certificate contest.

3. PROFESSIONAL AND ACADEMIC PREREQUISITES OF STUDIES' CURRICULUM

Field of study: Management and Production Engineering educates future engineers managing production processes. In the course of study they acquire a comprehensive interdisciplinary knowledge including management science, business law, economics, product design, process management in production, combined with modern methods of computer design support and manufacturing. The educational program also includes a 4-week practical training in manufacturing or service businesses. Practical training is an opportunity for students to build contacts with potential future employers.

Graduates of Management and Production Engineering can work as production engineers, quality control specialists, engineers responsible for product development processes, technical and organizational preparation of production. Graduates can also conduct their own manufacturing or service businesses.
We offer both full-time and extra-mural education programmes. The curriculum of this course of studies qualifies for a continuation of higher education to get a Master's degree in Management and Production Engineering

4. SEMESTER/YEAR DIAGRAMS FOR THE FACULTY

Students commencing studies in the academic year 2015/2016, we offer the opportunity to gain engineering degree in one of three specializations:

5. FINAL EXAM PROCEDURE

To obtain the title of an engineer, students are obliged to complete all the courses listed in the curriculum in the form of acceptance or an exam with a final mark. The studies are concluded by submitting a supervised diploma thesis, which will be checked by a specialist and defended before a commission. This will be followed by the diploma examination.

6. PRINCIPLES, METHODS OF GRADING AND EXAMINATION

The semester can be treated as completed after obtaining at least the satisfactory grade in all the subjects in the curriculum of studies including professional training classes and after submitting the record book as well as the record card at the dean's office at the time required for the completion of the semester.
The grades used at the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa: very good (5,0), plus good (4,5), good (4,0), plus satisfactory (3,5), satisfactory (3,0), unsatisfactory (2,0).
Students are required to be active at classes, pass partial tests positively, fulfill other requirements taken into consideration to be assessed.
The subject which is a lecture and is not followed by an exam is accepted as passed on the basis of the final test. In case some classes such as project and laboratory, seminars are not completed then sitting for the exams is made impossible.

7. PRACTICAL TRAINING

The practical training is an indispensable additional element for future engineers which completes their theoretical knowledge. The practical training takes place in private and state-owned companies of the production and the service industry. The practical training must be organized in such a way that every student gets acquainted with the conditions under which a company works on the market and may profit from the theoretical knowledge that he or she has acquired during classes to solve practical problems in the field of production and services. The practical training is organized and supervised by coordinators to be nominated by the university and the respective company.
